Facebook has recently won another case against a spammer who already owes MySpace $234 million. The spammer, Sanford Wallace, has been involved with spamming since the mid-1990s.

Wallace has been accused for spamming Facebook users by sending them phishing messages which involved asking them to enter sensitive login information to malicious sites. The information obtained was then used to spam victim’s friends.

Wallace also made money by redirecting the users to sites that paid him for traffic.

Facebook sought for more than $7 billion dollars for the damages caused but was awarded $710,737,650.
As mentioned earlier, this is not the first time Facebook won money from a case. Last year, Facebook won $873 million which is considered the largest award till now under the 2003 Can-Spam Act.

Obtaining such large amounts of money from Wallace won’t be an easy task since he already ows MySpace money. Thus, Facebook has hired a firm to help them with this task.
